Who we are

Built for the businesses a big firm doesn't have time to really know.

We work with family businesses, founders and growing SMEs across Singapore — the companies that need more than a once-a-year compliance filing, but don't need, or want, the scale and distance of a Big 4 engagement.

Between us, the team carries close to a decade of combined Big 4 experience. We learned what rigour looks like at scale — and we learned who that model leaves behind. So we built this firm around a different instinct: stay close enough to a business, year-round, to catch what matters before it becomes urgent.

In practice, that means a senior member of the firm on every file, proactive check-ins ahead of deadlines, and the kind of familiarity with your business that only comes from paying attention between engagements, not just during them.

Our story

We learned to lead inside the Big 4. We built this firm to follow instead.

Between us, the founding team carries close to a decade of combined Big 4 experience — auditing multinationals, advising listed boards, leading IPO readiness, and partnering with international tax teams across APAC. We learned exactly what rigour looks like at scale.

We also learned what that model is built for — and who it leaves behind. A firm structured to lead, at scale, from the front, serves the businesses that want precisely that: a methodology applied downward, a deliverable on a deadline. It serves family businesses, founders, and growing SMEs far less well. Those businesses don't need someone to lead from the front. They need someone willing to walk alongside them, long enough and closely enough, to actually know the terrain — the family dynamics, the cash flow rhythm, the regulatory deadline that will matter in eighteen months, not eighteen days.

So we built Chua and Lee Associates LLP on the older idea instead. Not a firm that leads its clients — a firm that follows them: through incorporation, through the first hire, through the audit that actually matters, through the succession conversation no one wants to start first. The discipline is unchanged from what we learned inside the Big 4. The posture is the opposite.

That posture runs across everything we do — audit, accounting, tax, corporate secretarial and advisory work — under one roof.

A growing business that crossed the GST registration threshold

The situation: Revenue growth pushed the company past the compulsory GST registration threshold, with registration, records and reporting all needing to be set up correctly and on time.

What we did: Assessed the registration obligation, handled the GST registration itself, and set up the accounting records and processes needed for ongoing reporting.

Where it stands: Registered and compliant, with GST now running as a routine part of the accounting rather than a scramble.

A business that arrived with accounting already in trouble

The situation: Incomplete bookkeeping, a previous accountant who left mid-engagement, or a compliance gap already flagged by IRAS — the kind of mess that's more common than most business owners realise, and rarely their fault to begin with.

What we did: Assessed the gap, rebuilt the records where needed, and brought the company's accounting and GST position back into compliance.
